I have never even heard of Billy Darnell, Why would I want to buy his music?
Hmmmmmm I believe the correct answer to that is " Why wouldn't you want to buy his music?" First of all the man is a very talented singer, and his songs are great. Combine those two things with the guarantee he's offered, what do you have to lose by taking a listen?
It's obvious your a music person, or you wouldn't have been on the net looking for music. Try it, you'll like it.
I am thinking about purchasing a couple of his songs that I have heard, and really like, but to be honest with you, I don't like using my credit card on line. Are you sure it's safe, and is there any other way to pay for them and down load them?
If your talking about downloading single mp3's, or mp3 downloads of the albums, I am sorry, but there is no other way to pay for them. In saying that let me point out that, though no one can insure beyond a doubt the security of online transmissions, most credit card information theft is accomplished by someone hacking into a companys servers and stealing the information. CDFreedom has solved that issue by completely erasing from their servers any details of the transaction as soon as the transaction is completed. That's one of the reasons we require that the original invoice be sent back with all returns, it is the only actual record of the transaction.
Let me ask this question.. Do you purchase gas with your credit card locally, buy groceries with it, or pay for prescriptions with it? Most people don't realize this, but most of those register systems have what is called a journal tape within the register, it captures ALL the details of that electronic transaction on a roll of paper. Your name, the account number, and the date of expiration, and anyone that wants to take the time to get it can. Believe me, an online credit card transaction is a lot safer than anything you do with your credit card on a day to day basis with it in your home town.
I am confused. You say at your site, you will guarantee that your product meets with my satisfaction, and that if it doesn't you will refund the full price of the item, but when I went to CDFreedom they were very explicit that they dont issue refunds on media products. What's with that?
Good Question! As we said on the home page, Billy's offer is rarely, if ever, found in the the media industry, and CDFreedom is not doing anything unusal or different at their site. All refunds, no matter where you purchased the CD from, must be sent directly to:
Billy Darnell Music
421 Parkside Circle
Lebanon, TN 37087
and the CD MUST be accompanied by the original invoice sent with the CD.
I am finding it really hard to believe you all are going to stand behind that kind of quarantee! Whats to stop people from copying the CD, and then returning it to get their money back? Are y'all crazy?
I am going to be real honest here and tell you we all felt the very same way you do. If it were up to the group as a whole, we would not have offered it, but Mr. Darnell has the final say in all business matters so as insane as it might sound, yes, I can assure you, he will stand behind that guarantee.
When we objected and pointed out the very things you just did, plus the fact he is not a wealthy star, he is a struggling independent artist that has spent nearly all the money he makes on this project, and asked "Why do this, nobody else does?" " his response was " Look, I've given this a lot of thought and here's the deal. Nobody knows me, there probably won't be more than a couple dozen people who have ever even heard of me on the internet, but I truly believe if I can get people to just listen to my music, they will become fans, so I want to make it possible for them all to do that with as little risk as possible. Hell if I dont believe in me, why should they? As far as stealing from me and all that copying stuff, I think most folks who like an artist, work at supporting them, they want to see them continue to make music, so I don't think it's going to be that big a deal. The people that are planning on doing that , lets just have them email us and request a free copy, I ain't a rich man, but I'd rather give them a free copy, than to know something I had was causing them to do something illegal, or go through hassle of sending out a CD, just to have it returned, and then have to send them a refund on top of it. Lets just do it."
You got to respect someone who believes in, not just himself, but the honesty, and integrity of everybody else as well. Just for the record we vetoed the free CD request thing. That's a little much, and a real fan wouldn't even think about it.
I am having trouble listening to the samples. Can you tell me why?
All the samples that you listen to are generated from the site of the distributor, so this question might be better posed to them, but first you might want to check the preferences, or options there in your computer. One of those might not be letting the samples download or play.
Hey, I live pretty close to Nashville and wanted to go hear this guy, but I can't seem to find any information on his personal appearances anywheres, why is that?
Another great question! If you have read any of his bios out there on the internet you know he has just gotten back into the music business after many years away, and most recently, just started his journey to promote his music on the internet. Most big label stars have the luxury of having a small army of people who take care of all the small stuff, and things like promotion. Billy is not a big label star, and there are only a few of us trying to do the work of many. So, between the new website, the current promotional project, and the album he just released, he has decided that his time would be better spent here helping with promotion. I can tell you that right now he is considering doing some songwriter nights in the Nashville area, and if that happens we will let you know in the persoanl appearance section of the "announcements" page. Be patient and keep checking it.
Ok, I really liked his music, and I wanted to tell everyone how pleased I was with his songs, but I looked all over the web site and there is no place to do that. Are you going to add something like that?
If you would like to give a testomonial, we ask that you send it to any of the contact addresses on the " contact " page. Tell us your experience, and please let us know if it's alright to post your email address along with your comments. Some folks feel that without the email address the response might not be legitimate, though we will post the response one way or the other if you wish. Eventually as we start to get them we will create a testimonial page.
Why does one cd cost less than the other? Shouldn't they both be the same price?
Billys first album " Thanks For The Memories " only has 8 songs on it, where the newest album " 15 Years Later " contains 10 songs. When your selling single mp3s at .99 cents each, you can't fairly charge the same amount for both CD's.
